Whilst the Chanel advertisements with Brad Pitt are a total load of contrived bull, (and he looks like a drip), Chanel is one of the few fragrance houses that are serious about the quality of the ingredients they use- so much so that they even grow some ingredients in order to protect quality and to be sure the ingredient is available….so your scent smells vaguely similar batch to batch and doesn’t run out.

Mind you, in the case of coco mademoiselle it would be excellent if all of the ingredients would run out for at least a decade so no-one could wear it anymore. No offense to those that like or love it but I personally am so tired of smelling it on soooo many people-for me it has become as boring as a school uniform. NOW thanks to the dupe it will only dominate the olfactory plane further….. yep I have a strong sense of smell and I can track where my colleagues have been around the building based on their scent some of which are vile.

Some Chanel fragrances like 19 use one of the most expensive ingredients- iris root butter which can sell in the tens of thousands of dollars per kilo. Chanel also pays to have an in house perfumer (Jacques Polge) AND a director of research and development for fragrance (Christopher Sheldrake). They are the olfactory ‘artists’. So imitation is flattery….and Lidl is a copy-cat….dirty rat…..
