The most beautiful shoes I ever had were suede kitten heels from Hobbs. They use an Italian company to make their shoes, and they do half sizes, so my awkward size 38 and a half feet were perfectly comfortable.

The crucial thing is not to get an unsupported slingback. If the slingback is at the correct angle, and held in place at the sides, which mine were, they’re fine.

Most kitten heels aren’t. It’s not the heel that’s the problem; it’s the slingback.

These shoes showed toe cleavage and were deeply sexy. They were even admired by a class of Italians from Cremona, the town where all shoes from Italy are made.

I nearly didn’t buy them, cos I don’t like toe cleavage, but my Mum talked me into them. They were €165 and I wore them til they fell off me. Mam said they were the only shoes she’d ever seen me wear that had a bit of style. I still can’t bear to throw them out!

I want to like kitten heels, I really do. But they make me walk funny, and I am so used to seeing my feet in high heels that when I am wearing lower ones it makes me think that my feet look huge (which, as a size 3, they are not).

Another tall girl here (5ft10) and I love wearing high heels esp with a 36in leg so my legs look super long.. Wore kitten heels years ago but hated them. Found them harder to walk in and felt like other people presumed I didn’t like been tall therefore the small heels which couldn’t be further from the truth.. Also think they do nothing sexy for your legs

I have big-ish feet for a woman (size 8, and an incredibly narrow foot), and I always imagine that sort of shoe would make my foot look even longer.

I’d much rather a proper aul’ high heel.

I LOVE kitten heels. I can’t wear high shoes (last time I tried, I fell off them. Literally off them. In dublin. In front of my boss. I may have been a little drunk) But cute little kitten heels are dressy and girly and great for nights out. I think it depends on the shape of the shoe and heels.

I can’t walk in them. I can do 5/6 inch heels but kitten ones just throw me off balance. I don’t like the look either.

They are so ugly and should be banned!!! They just look frumpy, no matter how tall/skinny/glamorous you are …..all it takes is a kitten heel and you are immediately transformed into a frump!!!

Having crazy flash backs of my first ‘proper’ job and a pair of black kitten heels I wore all the time….***cringe***

oh god !!! i hate them sooo much !! just wear the flat !!! people look top heavey .. they remind me of mrs bucket, My 80 year old granny wears them to weddings! Plus they make ur legs look so short and stumpy !!.. they always look like normal heels that are struggling to hold the persons weight!! they are HORRIBLE!!!

I really wish they would make a heel height that is somewhere between a kitten heel and the normal skyscraper heels but alas it seems to be all or nothing with shoe makers, I love wearing heels but can’t walk in anything above 3 inches which the market really doesn’t seem to cater for at all
