I love mineral powder foundation - 30 seconds with a kaabuki brush, mascara, eye liner and I'm done for work, so much easier than foundation or even the nude magique BB cream I've been using for the summer. Have been using Isadora powder for the last 3 years, no "furry face" just nice even coverage - me but better!! - but can't find a stockist here any more. I've just ordered ELF's powder, at £5 I can afford to try it out, it's got good reviews so I have high hopes it could be my new go to in my daily routine.

Probably wrong to admit it but my style of liquid foundation application is also throwing make up at my face, swirling and hoping for the best. In two- three hours it will have melted. In thirteen hours, when I finish work the only place still holding onto the make up are my eyebrows.
Days off however when I take the time to apply, the bare minerals leave my skin looking lovely (if I do say so myself). I use a normal concealer with it though. My skin is so dry its akin to a desert and suprisingly it hides the dryness unlike the liquid foundations do. I bought a bare minerals primer I think its a brightening primer and I think it helps.

Poor Jane. Her line is actually very nice. Although I know I have no chance at convincing you, she also makes a pressed mineral base in a compact. It's also applied with a brush. There's no flyaway powder to worry about, and it sits nicely on the skin, with very natural-looking coverage. (No, I'm not affiliated.)

I'm also a fan of MAC's Studio Fix powder foundation, but it's not mineral, alas.

I have oily skin and powder mineral foundations in general do not suit me well. Especially not the ones that contain oil, although I have used those that do not as well. Usually mineral foundations have a kind of strange, oily glow. I can take a matte foundation and after a couple of hours or less, it will turn into an oily mask that makes the pores around my nose especially visible. I have not tried liquids.

The new YSL foundation is great, even for my oily skin. I put Kryolan's Anti-Shine powder on top and it stays matte until nearly the end of the working day. I skip the powder when my skin is behaving itself, not dry or especially spotty, so that the 'glow' the foundation gives looks good. I have two bottles of the stuff that I mix, there was no perfect shade for me among the 22.

And you forgot one other thing about mineral powders - the mess it makes.
My boyfriend has banned my friend from putting on make up in our bathroom - the grouting in the tiles were ruined!!
Also powder cannot take on the power of liquid foundation - fills holes gives you a new complexion. I think powder works on nice, even, non blemish attracting skin.

Furry, I love it! I have the same problem with mineral foundations. Even today I thought I needed a bit of powder on my nose, used a duo fibre brush to put the lightest dusting of translucent mineral powder on and yes, I now have a furry nose. Pass.

I've tried some mineral foundations which go on & look grand until about 2 hrs in when my oily skin has magicked the minerals into 4 shades darker just on my T-zone? Baffling! Anyhoo I'm happy to use the MAC Mineralise as a setting powder over Coloursray or the MAC long last one name escapes me now. Would I use Mineralise on its own? Hell no.
I'm always being pushed minerals for my greasy visage but alas they are yet to make one that can handel it! I would love to be back to my 16yr old self & only need a bit o' rimmel pressed powder on the nose & be good to go.

Well now I've tried 2, Bare Minerals and Laura Gellar.
Don't like Bare Minerals, made me feel furry faced and chalky uugghh and as for the 26 euro brush it comes with, there was more brush on my face and clothes after I'd applied!!!
However I like the Laura Gellar one, it really has great coverage and didn't give me that feeling that it was 'powder'.

But it has since been ditched at the bottom at the make up bag, along with my Chanel & Sephora foundations since my new infatuation with YSL.
