Hi Little Blue, you can subscribe online – here’s the link: https://subscribe.hearstmags.com/subscribe/splits/oprah/opr_sub_footer They have special offers sometimes and I think when I renewed my subscription it was about €38, though of course I might have been lucky with the exchange rate. According to that link, the current sub to Ireland is $45 so that should be around or under €40. Excellent value for twelve issues a year!

CherrySue, I also agree that subscriptions are a great gift. In fact, I ask my parents and husband to cover my magazine subs as my birthday and Christmas gifts – it means I don’t have to pay for my favourite mags and they arrive throughout the year.

Also, I second Nicola’s recommendation of the DIY Oprah cover thing. It is deranged yet totally hilarious. You can write your own coverlines and everything!

Oprah is great, and I like the fact that a lot of the time what she has to say is basic common sense. it seems to be in short supply in modern society.

Cherrysue: The magazine subscriptions are indeed a great gift. I get National Geographic delivered for my Dad and he looks forward to it arriving every month.

I can’t help but love Oprah. Perfect lunch hour viewing. Sometimes I do worry that she has early onset dementia… There’s a lot of saying the same sentence 7 times and random shouting. She’s very handy for second hand advice though. Whenever a friend is facing a boy problem, we ask “what would Oprah do?”

It’s weird, just the other night I was on her site, because I remembered a cover of O that she did when she’d put a load of weight back on. It was her, next to a thinner her, with the title “How did I let this happen again?”

I went looking for it because it made me laugh so damn much the first time I saw it. But when I was on the site, I saw that you can add your head to Oprahs body and CREATE YOUR OWN O MAGAZINE FRONT COVER!

I was in the airport last week staring at the magazine rack for ages and came away with nothing. I refuse to buy the “she’s put on half a pound and is fat/now she’s too skinny” type or the “if you do this your boyfriend will love you forever type” and was left with nothing – this sounds like a brilliant alternative, I’ll definitely give it a go next time I’m looking for a magazine.
