I've fallen in love with a-wear jeans. I find the fit and length perfect for me. I don't spend hours of my day pulling them and dragging them, they just fit. I don't find them too expensive either, which is great as I'm not able to spend €100 on jeans!
I find tesco jeans alright, but they don't last long at all. They do for the occasional wear but I wear jeans almost every day, so I need jeans to last.

The most i ever paid for a pair of jeans was bout 70 punts, back in the day when Levis were all the rage.
I find Tesco, Florence and Fred jeans are great and very good value, and i'm no skinny mini.
My bargain of the year was a pair of dark denim skinny F&F jeans on the sale rale in Tesco for the grand total of ¢2. They are one of the nicest pair of jeans I own.

I've taken a real liking to Zara's skinnies, they're great (have in blue and a fab moss/bottle green) and I've had so many compliments on them. Pretty cheap as well (between 30 and 40 squids) so you don't feel like you've to sell a body part to get a pair. I would recommend.

Honestly, I just wouldn't pay mad money for jeans. I wear a lot of them, but the max I would pay is around €70. I HATE skinny jeans with a passion and prefer bootleg, and I've found that Next and Topshop jeans are winners. I do believe in paying a little more for quality though, for example I'm a fan of Penny's, but wouldn't buy the jeans for the sake of the cheaper price - I just don't think they last.

I find with expensive jeans, the fabric is softer and the variety in sizes are better in order to ensure a better fit. Normally, I'd just go to a designer outlet village and purchase CK or DKNY jeans, so will prob spend in the region of £60-70 per pair anyway. Since good highstreet jeans retail at £50 nowadays anyway, I'd rather go the designer route.

I've heard good things about the TopShop jeans and have tried them in the past. The fabric is certainly softer than the normal highstreet stuff I'm used to, but the waist did not fit me well.

Saying all of this, I'm wearing jeggings 98% of the time instead of jeans nowadays... they're so much more comfortable and can be skin-fitting without cutting off the circulation, as a few pairs of my skinnies did!

Thanks for all the comments, ladies! I think the conclusion we can come to is that once you find the right jeans for you, you stick to them - and the right jeans can be cheap OR expensive, as the range of opinions attests to!

One thing I did want to say though is relating to PinkPanther's comment about having ethical concerns regarding the high street. I have ethical concerns regarding clothes, but the price of the item you're buying has little or no bearing on how ethically it was made. Often, VERY high-end luxury merchandise is made in the same factory (with the same wages and the same working conditions) as cheaper, high-street items. Just because a bag might have a €1,000 price tag on it doesn't mean that the workers who made it were paid more than those who made a €50 handbag.

If you're interested, there's a book called Deluxe, about the mark-up of luxury goods, how and where they're made and how and why they maintain such an exclusive cachet, that you can buy on Amazon. It's by Dana Thomas, a journalist, and is a really good read.

I have a pair of jeans I paid 70e for in a boutique in the country town I'm from, they're kind of tobacco colour, skinny, too long on me but that's a given for a short ass. I just roll them up. I wear them the most - next is the Tally Weijl jeans, I have about 4 pairs of them, which I got in their closing down sale in Ashbourne for a tenner each, worn to death, still soft, still have a shape and very comfortable.
I have a few pairs from Penneys of late, because they've started selling size 6 and they ain't bad for 15e... in a few colours :)
The most I've spent was on my tobacco ones, or topshop in the past however, even though I'm very petite, I have muscly legs from dancing so I can't get into their VERY stupidly tight skinnies... which wrecks my head. A Warehouse 6 is NOT a 6 either. I hate fake close sizes.

When I was in college in the early nineties it was Levi 501s or nothing and I remember you could get them in Gap (not Gap as we know it today - it was a boutique shop in the GPO mall- anyone remember?) for £30 when everywhere else they were £60 or £70. Rediculously expensive when my part time job wages were 2 quid an hour! Oh god I'm showing my age here!!!!
