Maybe it's just my feet, but I've found the pricey labels far more comfortable than most others. I've one pair of Jimmy Choo courts that I got for my wedding, they're amazing and another pair with an ankle strap - necessary because of the 5" heel :) So comfortable, that I thought I could run in them, and promptly fell flat on my face in the middle of a junction...!
I wish I could afford to buy them all the time, but sales will have to suffice!

Aw, I always feel like I'm missing out when I read posts like these. I can't really wear heels as 1) I'm tall and will easily become 6 feet and conspicuous when wearing them and 2) I can't really walk easily in anything too high/with a stiletto heel. I'm so crap!

However, I DO like Feud's shoes. They're comfortable for high heels, and if you keep an eye on amazon you'll usually pick up a sale bargain: (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_st?keywords=feud&qid=1350121531&rh=n%3A355005011%2Ck%3Afeud&sort=price)

I have tried enough shoes to establish that £50-£100-ish is my shoe budget limit. I am one of those who could happily clutch her designer bag like a newborn child and never let it touch the ground. Imagine the internal horror I'd suffer through if I had to wear a pair of Jimmy Choos and walk through something wet!

Besides, I find shoes to be like watches - I'd rather have a good quality pair from a solid brand that designer. I don't want to be crying over lost diamantes from a DKNY watch, nor wibbling over pretty scuffed Louboutin soles. The shoes HAVE to be good quality and leather (or silk, NO PU!) and comfortable for at least the first 20 mins.

Saying that, all my shoe rules go out the window the moment I finish a SATC marathon.

ladyelvis, I bought them too ... my justification was that if I get sick of them I'll make my money back (and more!) by eBaying them, but I also wear them all the time! Love them. (Although I heard that when Marant first released them about three years ago they were about €200 ... then they became the big "it" thing and she immediately jacked up the prices! Smart!)

Um, confession time. Those wedge trainers that are everywhere? Isabel Marant copies-I bought the real Marant ones in Costume. Don't tell my husband I'll be divorced. BUT I wear them at least three times a week since I got them and will continue to do so. Love them eversomuch. Cost per wear justification etc. Funnily enough, despite the price tag, they have been sold out everywhere as soon as they arrive in store/online. So I'm not the only eejit!

Eve - no I didnt mean that you sounded holier than thou at all. Completely get where you're coming from. I would never buy shoes for €600 - no way no how! Most expensive shoes I have ever bought were €180 and they were for my best friends wedding (and to be fair I did think they were on the expensive side) but I do love them and they're comfy enough to wear for a few hours...

Eve / Atkins, I take your point - I probably should have included some sub-€50 pairs! Personally, I don't buy cheap shoes. (And I don't mean that in a superior way!) I tell myself it's because I have shin splints and fallen arches, but really it's just because I NEVER find them comfortable - cheap flats are too flat, cheap heels are too high and the arch is just unmanageable, and imitation leather / plastic makes my feet sweat and blister. I feel like spending that little bit more on shoes is actually totally worth it - whereas I wouldn't sniff at spending €12 on a pair of jeans, or €20 on a jacket!

So I guess my "normal" shoe range would be around €50-€200, depending on the shoes. Above that = expensive, and below that = bad quality!

And I don't think you're doing anything wrong; some people spend their money on different things. Maybe you prioritise savings, or a pension ... I have ZERO savings, and I don't have a pension as I keep telling myself I'm too young! So it's little wonder I have enough spare cash to buy €100-plus shoes!
