Did Chris Brown use a Mac Face Chart to “inspire” his new tatt? Yep he did

By Beaut.ie | September 14 2012 | 13 Comments

So it was only yesterday that we were discussing Mac face charts and how they’ve changed them to a newer, prettier version.  Well no sooner had that post gone up then comments started to come in on Twitter.  There were rumours you see that the odious woman beater Chris Brown had based his new (revolting) neck tatt on a Mac face chart.

So I had a very close scrutiny of the whole tattoo sitch and I’m inclined to think that even if he didn’t actually USE a real Mac face chart his tattooist came up with something very similar.

The shape of the face.  The exaggerated outline. The lack of a hairline. The full sneery lips and the two little slits for nose holes.  Okay I’ve used a Halloween face chart, just for comparison purposes, but obviously Chris has used no colour in his – just what looks like a black eye, bruises and stitches on the lips.

Yep, it’s a very ugly and battered woman version of an old Mac Face Chart and for those who are saying that it looks like Rihanna I couldn’t disagree  more.

Why would the man who beat the living shit out of Rihanna choose this image, Mac inspired or not?  Why?  I just can’t understand the mentality behind this.

Do you see the similarity?  Or do you agree with Chris and believe that it’s just “art”?

UPDATE: Here’s the face chart Brown took his “inspiration” from.  What a lovely image for a woman beater to choose.

An ugly horrible tattoo for an ugly, horrible little man….

nope it’s nothing like Rihanna, yep it’s basically a battered woman.

I detest neck tattoos but not as much as I detest Chris Brown. He’s an obnoxious ignorant abusive bully and I actually can’t understand how he gets any airplay at all.

Symtomatic of a mysogenistic society unfortunately

The actual arrogance of this tattoo is breathtaking – this man is clearly stating he is untouchable and can do whatever he wants, including remind the world that he beats women

Rihanna’s actions though are equally inexplicable – here is a woman in a uniquely powerful and influential position and she basically says to the world that objectifing and abusing women is acceptable.

Sorry for the longwinded rant but their f**ked up ‘relationship’ really angers me

While I don’t think it’s supposed to be her, I do think it was an insensitive and stupid thing to do. I cannot understand why people are still buying his music, never mind what Rihanna decides to do.

I don’t think it looks like Rihanna but do find the imagery on him a little disturbing. He claims its inspired by day of the dead masks but at the same time a little cop on as to what it might look like to everyone else might not have gone astray from either himself or that tattoo artist.
I like tattoos but do think this one just looks terrible & made worse by the fact that it does look like a battered woman.

I think TMZ confirmed that it is in fact MAC face chart :D
and the “battered” part is supposed to be a sugar skull.

chris, you are an eejit, not to mention hammered your girlfriend. Is this a really bad attempt at drumming up publicity??

  • Aisling *Aisling* says:

Thanks Nic, I’ve updated the post – what a HORRIBLE image

  • I only saw the Sugar Skull after I’d been told there was one as they’re usually very colourful and this isn’t. It took some really close examining to see that it wasn’t a battered woman – I don’t know how an aid or manager didn’t point that out to him.

Basically, I think he’s just stupid. I’m sorry to say that about anyone, but I get massive “thick as shite but half as useful” vibes from him. I think the media’s massively forgiving treatment of him has made him far less repentant that he should be.

  • gracey says:

Yeah it looks nothing like Rihanna, but you have to admit it has to have some connection to that ‘incident’? My first thought was that he’s looking for attention and maybe bringing out the old Rihanna story. I agree though, i cannot see the mentality behind this.

    Babodpower, I agree.
