Thanks everyone, you’re a great bunch of peeps. I knew I would get some good advice here. I can really see her for what she is now and am not going to stoop to her level. She is always jealous of other people and never has a good word to say about anyone, even the one or two who are her supposed “friends”. She loves drama of any kind and from now on I’m not going to please her by giving her any!!! Feel much better now, thanks again everyone

Dollface I know exactly what you are saying. Its the sister in law problem with me as well. I have come to the conclusion that (1) she loves the drama and the snide comments because (2) she’s jealous of what you have. a great relationship with your husband, his parents and your children.
My advice:
You’ll never win with someone like that because they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. you dont have to be her best friend but there’s no point in having a go at each other. she’d love that! As the ladies suggested smile! it will infuriate her! x

Hi all
I never get to pop by the blather anymore. Site is blocked in work and I’m snowed under in run up to Christmas.

Congrats Laura and Larala. Would love a sparkler myself. Lol

I feel for you Dollface. I’ve been in similar situation myself but smiled and acted myself and all my partners family began to notice how awful she was being to me. In the end my partners mam and my partner both spoke to her and told her to grow up and it all stopped. We’ll never be best buds but I wasn’t raised to stoop to her level.

Hope everybody else is well. I miss popping in to say hi. Ill leave money at bat for a drink for everyone. We need to cheer up on budget day.

Generally people like that are very miserable and unhappy in their own lives. They have nothing better to do than pick on people who are happier than them.

Dollface – I’m with Hazie on this. I have colleague who sounds exactly like her, and I’m alway super duper nice and friendly to her. I can see it wrecking her head. She is just dying for drama.

I don’t understand why people have to be so difficult and high maintenance. Life can be hard enough as it is without having to put up with people like that.

Dollface, she sounds like a right wagon. I’d say go with Hazies idea, be kindness itself in front of others so she can’t say a word against you and freeze the cow out, if she says anything people will remember you being nice as pie and think she’s only stirring. As Hazie said, sure you might as well have the craic.
