Hi ladies just having a read as always through the blog before bedtime as I couldn’t help but ask fr some advice,

I see you are talking about congestion around nose and chin and I’m the same, went into therapies clinic looking for some dermalogica cleansing masks and exfoliators when the assistant (who was quite pushy) advised me to go with a cleansing kit from Dr.Murad
I told her I have normal/dry skin and any type of benzoyl peroxide can dry out my skin and make it tight but she assured me it would be fine .
That was Thursday… By Saturday morning my whole face had swelled and my eyes were like two slits!!

I’ve stopped using the products but now my face is so sore , tight and flaky!! :,(
What kind of products would you suggest for regaining my usual , if slightly teenage looking skin???

I’ve tried a gentle exfoliators which worked in some areas and I’m just lathering on moisturiser but it’s not working !! Ahhh!!!

Also – amberingrose- I had cold bond extensions in and took them out myself the glue had matted my hair together argon or almond oil is the best to use, go through it but by not with a fine tooth comb… It did take me about 8 hours to do it all though… Never ever again!

Just checking in and catching up on the blather. Have a house full of kids on play overs, thankfully its sunny outside. Got my hands on the Bobbi Brown Nude lipstick this morning. Also bought some new towels in Marks sale, so boreing but they are badly needed. Just have to summon the energy to tackle the hotpress for a clear out. Keep putting it off.

Aoife: You enquired yesterday about CD wow having some new name. I have used cdwow in the past and found the service reliable and the products were all great. Stopped using them as I found the pricing was creeping up and up.

Afternoon ladies, Im exhausted today, have an hours commute home and feel like i’ll have to pull in for a snooze on the way, promised a friend id go for a jog with her tonight, sooo not in the mood but don’t want to let her down, I’m sure i’ll feel better after it!

Maybe I’ll go with all tea-tree – shampoo and shower gel. What ever is left closest to the front of the shower will be used! I just leave my posh shampoo at the other end of the bath and it is never touched.

cib and feefs – i am also a fan of st. ives scrub use it about twice a week. i use a face wash in the morning usually nivea and at night the boots melting cleanser. after about a year i have eventually found what works for me.

ambering rose – i feel so bad for you.. poor thing. hope you dont have to cut off too much. best of luck.

cd – a friend of my had a desperate problem with acne on his back and he started using tea tree and neutrogena body washes. it helped but he figured out his shampoo making it worse. when he would wash his hair in the shower the shampoo was running down his back. cant remember what shampoo is was though.

AmeringRose – surely there’s a clarifying shampoo, treatment you could use to get the product out. I feel so bad for you, I hate it when my hair is acting up. I know it will grow back again but it takes such a long time.

CIB – have you tried Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish?? Comes with a muslin so you get a very mild exfoliation every time.
At the moment I’m using the Elemis Tri Enzyme Resurfacing face wash, toner and mask. It might be a bit strong for you if your prone to flakiness, but I just feel like I need to lift a layer off my face, just feels so clogged.

Feefs – I swear by St Ives face scrub, tried a lot of others but nearly always come back to it. Mind you its prob not the best is you have sensitive skin as it is quite abrasive

Ambering Rose, Have you tried Morroccan Oil or anythign similar? I have extremely coarse hair thats matted togeth most mornings and hair oil works wonders for it, hope you dont have to lose too much length

CiB- I love Clarins Melting Gel, I have dry skin but congested chin and around nose. I use this every day and it really helps, it also removes waterproof mascara. Massage it on to dry skin, add water it becomes milky and wipe off with a warm cloth.

But I also use dermalogica gentle cream exfoliant twice a week, it is a mask that you put on for 10-15mins and it is an enzyme-based product, and not abrasive like so many other facial scrubs out there. My face usually comes out feeling clean, but not stripped of essential oils. The Gentle Cream Exfoliant is on the pricey side, but a little goes a long way – so it should last anywhere from a few months to a year.
