Evening all. Hope everyones day went well. Took the munchkin to parent & toddler group for the first time today. Don’t you love how they’re no longer mommy & baby groups…very pc. Anyway, he got on ok, he didn’t try to clather anyone anyway, though there was one little girl who was just begging for it =O

@Molly, I totally agree try and borrow as much as you can. I am also very petite 5 foot 1 and I got all my stuff in TX Maxx. Arm length is fine in the jackets as you velcro them tight at the wrist to stop the snow going up your arm. My trousers were kids ones, i also have an adult pair and they just scrunch down in & over the boot.
Get the funkiest hat you can find so you can be recognised on the pistes!!!!
You’ll love it, best holidays I’ve ever had.

Have you tried Guineys for the turban towel, got one in there ages ago for one of the kids. Was only ¢2. They are hard to find when you go looking for them. Arnotts bargain basement may do them also.

I have gone on a few ski holidays now, and try to use things I can wear again! i bought a pair of ski trousers but I just use a good quality rain jacked layered with fleece and base layer underneath. AT least I can use these at other times.I have never had an issue with the cold.

If you are near 53 degrees north shop they usually have good deals on gloves,if you suffer from cold hands or poor circulation but a liner or very light glove for underneath. they cost about €5 but are well worth it!

Molly, try TK Maxx. I got cheap ski gear there before and it was grand, did the job.

Molly, I think Portwest have some ski gear. They have a loyalty card which you can fill out in shop for a decent discount.

Molly, if I were you, I would ask around to see if I have friends of a similar size with ski gear. Unless you go regularly, ski gear is a waste of money and takes loads of space in a wardrobe. If it’s the first time you’re going, wait till you’re sure you like it before buying anything more expensive than socks.

Hi guys, I am going skiing for the first time this year. I need advice on buying gear. I got ski socks in Aldi last week but as I’m quite petite their ski jackets are too big for me. Any ideas on jackets and pants? I’m a student so don’t want to fork out hundreds on gear!

Actually Beth, it’s for your own good that I don’t want you to go under my desk with your ruler. There are so many cables there that you could easily get tangled in them! Tis very dangerous you know
