My heart goes out to anyone with insomnia. I didn’t sleep well last night but I know it was becuase I slept in on Sun morn and only had a brief walk yesterday.

Seriously lads, feck this present-buying lark. I buy for two people, boyfriend and sister. (I have no other family). The downside is I don’t have much under the tree on Dec 25th or birthdays, but I cannot abide wasting money on stuff that isn’t appreciated (my me or the giftees).

thefrog – I hate that, it’s really annoying when you’ve made an effort to pick out a lovely present for someone and then they just don’t bother making any sort of effort to pretend that they liked the thing that you spent time picking out.

I’m currently working on my christmas present gift list, and I know for sure that whatever I get for my little brothers girlfriend won’t be appreciated, I know that the rest of my family will at least pretend to be happy with what they get!

Yea, your right the frog, they could at least pretend to like it. If thats too much for them they should just spit it out, say they don’t like it, and ask could it possibly be exchanged for something else.

@Mummypupper, my mum was too busy impressing my uncle’s sister (first time we met. Her brother and my aunt have been together for the past 20 years, but my family wasn’t good enough for them. They always refused to meet my grand-parents -too poor, too working class – and only met my aunt once she was pregnant ) by telling her how wonderful I was and what a great job I had!

About the gift, it’s the second time she’s done it (got her a lovely jewel for her baccalaureat), so I’m afraid she’ll have to do with a box of chocolates for Xmas. Not bothering anymore.
I love buying things for people, but I prefer it when at least they try and act pleased. Although, maybe it’s selfish of me.
Oh well (assume old woman’s voice), the young ones nowadays, no respect!

The frog,it’s really disheartening when you give a gorgeous present to someone and they barely acknowledge it,my husbands nieces are the same.I haven’t made the same mistake twice with them though!How did your mum and her sister get on,hopefully the axe was buried…..in something that wasn’t each other!!
