Thanks for putting me at ease BetterInBlack and Laura! It’s not a mole exactly, it’s a few dermatofibroma (weird benign lumps) that have popped up on my arms and legs – they’re getting a wee bit bigger of late so I’m off to have the biopsy. Feeling a bit better about it now, I bet it will be just those paper stitches too. Phew! Thanks for sharing – the blather solves all problems

Orla- Great you got ‘the chat’ in and got stuff aired between you and the boy.
Sarabelle- are you getting a mole or skin biopsied? I had to have one before on a mole,its grand,you just get some local anaesthetic (mine was injected under my skin,hardly felt it) then the area goes totally numb so you Dont feel anything while they work away.mine wasnt over an extensive area,more a shave of skin.wouldnt even notice the tiny mark left:)
Tcup- dead right to send the request! Whats worse thing that can happen eh? If he doesnt accept let him ride off on the nag he rode in on!
Breige- i saw company doing the same through fb,i let aisling know.i also commented on the post to let them know i was disappointed beaut.ie were being used to market products.very annoying!
Am Dying to get the ud smoked palette,all this talk of beautiful colours has me drooling

PS I’m off to see Ted tonight after work in Dundrum, and feel I’ve been left with no choice but to buy the UD Smoked and/or Naked 2 palettes this eve. You lot are more effective than any ad I’ve seen!

Hi Sarabelle,

I’m not sure if it’s defo the same thing but to my understanding the procedure varies slightly depending on what they’re trying to examine. My friend/flatmate had a couple of moles removed over the last few years. I think the first time it was like a very light shaving of skin was taken from the area, whereas the second time it involved going in a bit deeper. The most uncomfortable part for her was actually after the procedure as it was under her arm around her bra line, which would rub against the wound (so she just took a couple days off work and went braless ) but the procedure itself was completely painless as it was all under local anesthetic.

I can’t guarantee it’ll be the same thing for you but I would suggest it couldn’t be too dissimilar, and the anesthetic will ensure you don’t feel the procedure or stitches anyway. (Is it possible you may only require those external paper stitches too? Probably depends on the size of the area) Best of luck with it

Oh God never so glad to see Monday. No sleep Fri or Sat night. Marathon cleaning session all day Monday. So tired on Sunday I was knocking everything over. Broke two cups and a Crystal bowl my Mum got as a wedding gift over 40 years ago.

Afternoon all! Just wondering if anyone on here knows what a skin biopsy entails? I’ve to go for two tomorrow and my extraordinarily unhelpful dermatologist just told me “It’s a biopsy, you’ll need stitches afterwards”

Gee thanks! Anyone know if they’re very painful? I’m an awful wimp when it comes to hospital stuff! I don’t know why, I have two tattoos and I used to have about 8 piercing but the mention of stitches I was practically running out the door!
