And don't even get me started on Richard Boyd Barrett and his 'one of the people' schtick. He went to St Michael's in Ballsbridge!

He's not a logger or cowboy, so what's with the checked shirts? It's not like his salary won't stretch to a suit.

The notion that ordinary working class people would dress like that if they were elected is beyond patronising.

If you work in a job where you may get dirty, you go home and get changed into something clean and smart to go out. You enjoy the feeling of being a bit dressed up, as it makes a change.

It is a gross insult to the working class of this country to suggest that they would dress like him, were they in office.

They would, quite rightly, feel it was insulting to their peers and the office they hold.

I can't stand Ming, after his refusal to bow to the Ceann Comhairle at the end of his maiden speech. It's the convention that one bows, simply to indicate that one has finished, but Ming bows for no man.

Arrogant, rude, self-important, self-entitled tossers, all of them.

If the nation frog-marches its political representatives out to buy suits, the feckers will expense them! I'm sick of the government as it is, but I am not surrendering my taxes to the feckless articles to buy clothes.
Mick is a state though. And I'd love to bleach bath Ming, but who am I to judge.

I don't care what they wear on their own time, at home with their friends and families etc.
But when the are working in a professional capacity in representing us in the Dail, then they should at least look clean and tidy. I've heard Ming in a couple of interviews and he seems like a smart clued in guy but seasame street t-shirt to our parliament really!!!!
Don't get me started on Mick and his numerous problems with revenue I'll blow my top. Giving himself and his an increase when his firm is going under and he owed money to loads of contractors !!!!!!

I dont think they are trying to be "one of the people". I think that in Mick Wallaces case, its pure dirty laziness and for Ming, he is trying to make sure he is noticed, no matter what way!

If office-appropriate clothing is worn by people who rarely ever meet the public as part of the job then there is no excuse for anyone in the public eye. It takes very little to have a shower in the mornings!

To paraphrase Coco Chanel - “I don't understand how anyone can leave the house without fixing themselves up a little - if only out of politeness." I don't think that people have to be style mavens and bang on trend or anything but at least look like they have made an effort - at least look clean and tidy. For me this applies to both men and women - to show up to meet people like you just rolled out of bed to me is disrespectful and rather careless.

I think it looks terrible the way they dress. I worked for an accounting firm previously and we had it drilled into us that going out to a client's premises you were representing the firm by your appearance and conduct therefore you should dress well & be above reproach. I don't see that here & their "client" is the country and especially those who elected them.

I don't care whether they are men, women or aliens but for the love of god take some pride in your appearance! I'm not saying they need to be suited & booted in the Dail but at the same time neat dress would be nice. I wouldn't get away wearing that into work & where I work now is quite a relaxed environment!

As it happened, I passed Mick Wallace having a coffee the other day,and he caught my eye because he was so dishevelled looking. Im all for indivuality in dress, but I think it should be done with respect for the institution/employer/occassion.

I was watching a female TD on the news the other night, and wishing she would buy some clothes that fit her. All her clothes are too small and she looks totally unprofessional too, its not a gender thing.
