Possibly too late to comment on this, my suggestion for next year would be to make the voting procedure easier by allowing voters to review all their answers before submitting (as you can do on Survey Monkey for example).

Not having an overview of all the questions or being able to see what categories were coming up made it more difficult (for me anyway) to make sure I’d put the right product in the right category. That might sound stupid but for example the highlighter/concealer answers might have been affected by this. Not being able to look ahead and see that there was a category for highligher etc coming up could result in people putting in effectively an incorrect product.

otherwise it was great fun and got me thinking about what products I really love!

Hey I had to have a think about this before I posted here.

I found when it got to the shortlists there was a ton of categories I couldnt vote in and say for example with categories such as foundation I hadn’t used any of the estee lauder, chanel etc so I voted for the only one I used which was the studio fix.

Maybe next year it would be more accurate to communally come up with a long list on a post here and then vote from that so you have a good list of options to vote for. Then you’d end up actually voting for what you thought was best and not just what you know from the shortlist.

Ohhhh noooooooo! Does everyone think Studio Fix is that bad? So I was just wondering for the millionth time, NC and NW, cool and warm. If one is a red head with milky white skin am I cool or warm and if you’re cool are you supposed to use the NW or the NC? Confusion reigns!

Studio Fix is an awful foundation in my view… I just think there are so many other better foundations out there that are much more flattering.
I do see how many people wear it though but I put that down to MAC’s ‘excellent’ sales techniques..they can be quite evangelical about their new products so perhaps that is influencing people??

We defintitely need to add in something specifically Irish (maybe a couple of Irish based categories). we were just afraid we’d make the lists way too long

Agree with Ceci that it would be fab to include an award for best irish brand.

Perhaps you could also have a ‘can’t live without / best evef find product’.

Also, (and as I type this word, I’m cringing as I dislike it so much but here goes!) anti-ageing products?

I was all set to vote for my Chanel eye make-up remover but there was no category for it, gutted! I think it was recced here somewhere, or in the Guide to Gorgeous, it’s fantastic anyway. Came to the end of the bottle last night (lasted me about 6 months of using it almost every day so worth the money), going to give the Bourjois one a go now.
