The Hit Parade: The Crab Rates Iloverazzle95’s Top Five

By | April 26 2010 | 21 Comments

The poll’s still open and the Crab is as yet un-named. Will this prevent him from doing his weekly nosy duty? WILL IT HECK.

Today, he’s having a sneaky inside Iloverazzles95’s beauty bag, who has left the following products out for his sea-bound scrutiny:

  1. MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation
“I love using this when I can’t be bothered with the hassle of liquid foundation, she says. “It’s so easy to apply and still gives full coverage.”
  2. MAC Eye Shadow in Satin Taupe
What’s good about this, then? “It’s such a pretty eye shadow that you can wear alone all over the lid or pair it with a darker shade in the crease,” she reveals, adding that Sable is her deeper colour pick. Anything else? “Definitely my favourite neutral eye shadow for every day.”
  3. MAC Studio Finish Concealer
“This is the only concealer I have used so far that actually fully covers my spots without leaving any redness behind,” Iloverazzles95 asserts, saying it’s her Holy Grail concealing product.
  4. Carmex
“If I go a day without this my lips are literally red raw, I will love this until I die!,” she exclaims, not unreasonably.
  5. MAC 187 brush
“Please excuse the dirtiness,” she begins, explaining, “I used it this morning. This brush has changed my foundation routine so much for the better. Gives me the airbrushed look in a few minutes!”

Some faves there too – especially the Mac 187, oh we do love a birra that. And in case you think it’d be really hard to pick just five can’t-live-withouts, Iloverazzles95 found it pretty tricky too. “It was truly hard for me not to throw in everything else I use on a day-to-day basis but when I sat down and thought about it, these were the ones I actually would die without!”

What do you reckon? Anything you love or loathe there? Want to pass judgement on her quintet, or want to submit your five for scrutiny? If so, all the info you need is on the original, the crab’s-back-from-the-dead post.

Love Carmex, but I must admit that since I ought the Nuxe lip balm it has been relegated to 2nd place. I still have a tub of it on the go though, for old times sake.

Thought the ‘Name that Crab’ poll was closed. Come on people, vote Horatio as your number 1 in the constituency. The true name of a ginger investigator. :D

Nice picks, you’re a real MAC fan! I have the Satin Taupe eyeshadow and the brush myself. They would also form part of my 5 essentials.

I’d also have to have a MAC lippy (colour depends on my mood!) Chanel ProLumiere and my YSL Faux Cils Mascara before I could face the world.

    *ought = bought

Do like Mac but their foundation has been letting me down lately so I am gonna give them the cold shoulder for a bit. :(

  • Kirstie says:

no no, still time for Mick Hucknell to come to supremacy!

Christian LaCrab is currently winning – lets change all that!

  • Dee Dee says:

have no love for MAC foundations but great top 5 otherwise ;-)

  • daiseeboo says:

Give it up Kirstie, you’re flogging a dead horse with the Huckstinator.

Come on people, give crabby the name God wanted him to have and sent to me through a vision via yer man in Ballyfermot making tea in his kitchen. Do yiz want to anger the Gods and have volcanic ash disrupting all manner of beauty deliveries to our fair isle. Didn’t think so, you know it’s the right thing to do.

Love Carmex as well – tempted to try Nuxe now Daiseeboo :)
Couldn’t live without my 187 brush or Studio fix either!

  • cailín says:

  • Keila says:

Think I have the satin taupe as well, it’s grand to lash on for daywear.

I am only a recent Carmex convert and I love it. I was using Nuxe but the tub was really annoying me when I had longer nails, so decided to try out a Carmex tube. I must try out the Studio Fix Powder as I bought the Sheer Pressed Powder for setting makeup but think I would prefer something more heavy duty. This reminds me that I need to take a pic of my favourites, so hard to pick just five!

  • ceci says:

I assume we can’t include a palette in our pick, is that considered cheating???

  • Kirstie says:

No, I think a palette is fine!

  • ceci says:

Excellent, I have a new one that I love! Must locate the camera this evening and take a pic

  • Velveteen says:

Daisieboo…..I’m with you…voted for the name Horatio last week!!!

  • daiseeboo says:

Veveteen – yay!!! Now we just need to mobilise the troops :D

The 187 is a worthy top 5 entrant, also you can’t beat Carmex for keeping lips in check.

  • laineyg says:

Another huge 187 fan (I reckon I have mine over 4 years – yikes) and Satin Taupe. not a carmex fan but need lipbalm on a constant basis :)

  • kate says:

I love my 187 brush! also adore my Guerlain parure extreme foundation, suits my skin perfectly (would love to see more shades though).
Carmex is my aid for dry lips but I hate the taste of it., currently using the cherry flavoured/scented one but still hate the taste.
Would love to try this concealer., looks interesting.. ladies do any of yez know a good one for red spots/blemishes? Ive really fussy skin (mostly oily but turns dry quickly is the product doesnt suit)

  • Cassie says:
