Clinigue moisturiser (the one with the spf25) gave me the worst spots I'd ever had last year, took me a while to realise what it was, but once I stopped using it my skin cleared up. I really like their foundations but I wouldn't go near any of their skincare products again ..

So late to the discussion that this will probably be read by no one, but I had to share anyway. My friend (and bridesmaid) recommended a salon for a spray tan for my wedding. She had got a tan done there a few weeks previously and found it excellent for a 'subtle glow' effect. I wasn't too Bridezilla-ish so didn't bother getting trials done for anything, but decided a week before that this salon was a bit out of the way and just booked one closer to my house, even though I hadn't been there before or heard anything about it.

My tan was perfect - very, very subtle and just enough that the white dress didn't make me look ill. My poor bridesmaid though went to her original salon not wanting to take the risk of somewhere new, and came out oompa-loompa orange. Literally! It was like Katie Price on a bad day! She was so upset, but she showered about 10 times the day before the wedding, used lots of exfoliators etc and the orange pigment faded a bit so she looked beautiful, if extremely tanned, the next day. I have never been so glad not to listen to a recommendation!

This is what happened to me with philosophy hope in a jar. I have impossible skin. I was about to go on a sunny summer holiday. I decided once and for all to tackle my skin so that I could glow with pride on my holidays. I emailed Hqhair with a very long description of my peculiar skin inc. my tendency to have allergic ractions. I was recommended Hope in a Jar. Apparently, it is a miracle in tub. I applied it two days before I left. I woke up the next morning and I as I looked in the mirror... I screamed...well, it was more of a yelp. My entire face was covered in liitle pin-head itchy bumps. I ran to the chemists and they gave a cortisone based cream which obviously wasn't stong enough (but I had no time to go to the doctor) since the reaction took over a week to die down. I then spent my entire holiday 1)makeup-less (!!!!), out of the sun (!!), 3)with my hair draped around my face (in teenage goth manner) and with my large Jackie O glasses on - even inside. It was devastating.
