Beaut.ie Asks: What Sort of Eyeliner Brush do YOU Prefer?

liquid liner

Personal-like, I worship at the altar of gel liners and matching brushes, but gel is just one of the many liner types out there on the market: kohl, cake, creme and liquid liners are all cluttering up makeup bags, not to mention beauty counters. I passed on felt-nibbed and brush-tipped liners years ago, but a recent tip imparted by Karim Sattar at the Body Shop's winter beauty launch got me interested again in the one-size-fits-all pen offerings so many brands offer.

He suggested that liners with felt nibs (like Lancome Art Liner and Nars' Eyeliner Stylo) can be used really easily for novices: instead of drawing your line using the top, sharp end of the tip, which you might do normally, he suggested you use it length-wise along the lashline and press the colour into place in two or three movements.

Simple - but it really works. Yes, it looks slightly untidy, but you can neaten up your line with the tip once you're happy with the thickness of it and you have the whole lashline covered.  Then refine your flick with the sharp tip too - not forgetting Aphrodite's advice to flick UP and not OUT!

So if you're a firm fan of all-in-one liners that brands like Rimmel, Mac, YSL and Bourjois do so well, would you give this a go to make the whole cats-eye process a little easier?  And if you are a firm fan of liquid over the pro brush and pot route, which sort of nib do you prefer for best results?
