Now we all know the statistic. 20% (or 10%) of the clothes in our wardrobe are worn 80% of the time – and I think that most of us would agree that that’s true. After all we know it to be a fact after endless episodes of What Not to Wear where Trinny and Susanna rudely ripped their victims clothes from hangers and held them up for ridicule.
So does the same hold true for makeup bags? I think it does.
I have about five makeup bags. One of them I use every day and I use almost everything in it. This is the main makeup bag. I have MAC foundation, Lancome Artliner, Estee Lauder eyeshadow quad, Smashbox blusher, Tweezerman tweezers, my beloved Clarins Eyebrow Kit, some brushes and what ever random mascara, lipsticks and glosses I’m using at the time. If any of these things go missing I go mental and they must be replaced – instantly. Or else life cannot go on.
The other makeup bags are full of things I bought and didn’t suit me/were the wrong colour/I used for a while and was a bit meh about them/colours I might only wear on a night out etc. But I cannot get rid of these makeup bags and their contents for I MAY need to use something in them at some stage and they are needed to backup the main makeup bag in case of catastrophe.
So do you agree with the 20-80 rule (20% of makeup bag used 80% of the time)? Or are you more of a saintly 80-20%?
