I recently started to think about what started my beauty habit. I didn't actually start to use makeup properly until well into my late teens, but I suddenly remembered my beloved Tinkerbell nail polish from my youth. Not quite as fancy as the one in the ad above (I don't remember it being a peel-off one), it was a clear polish with a pink tint, and I used to feel so grown-up when I was allowed to wear it!
I also had the matching Tinkerbell perfume - a small bottle containing a generic cologne fragrance, though it was always a toss-up between this and whatever perfume I had "made" by soaking rose petals in a jar of water (my mother got so many of them as gifts from me when her roses were in bloom!).
