Cold-Busting With Molton Brown’s Warming Eucalyptus & Ginger Body Scrub

warming Eucalyptus & Ginger Body Scrub

I’ve got a terrible cold. One of those complete bunged-up streamers. My poor nose is so red-raw at this stage that not even frequent applications of Eight Hour Cream can completely combat the cracked, peeling skin on my schnozz, and I’m feeling more than a little sorry for myself.

In the shower yesterday, I had a eureka moment. “Aha! I thought”, as I espied a big 300g green tub containing Molton Brown’s warming Eucalyptus & Ginger Body Scrub, €39. “I wonder…”, I thought, “could I use this as some sort of posh Vicks/scrub hybrid?” Sure there was only one thing to do.  I tried it.

Massaging the scrummy blend of pure eucalyptus oil, root ginger and sea salts into chest, neck and arms, I could feel the eucalyptus start to warm and rise up – right into my sinuses. Exactly where I wanted it.  Suddenly I could breathe again, not to mention actually appreciate the smell of the stuff. It woke me up from my daze as well as it’s so invigorating.

Needless to say, sinuses were back to their bunged-up state within 20 minutes, but I got temporary relief, not to mention lovely soft skin. A result, I think.

NOTE: When I called Molton Brown to check the price for this product, I was told that from the beginning of the month, they had adjusted their prices in-line with Sterling falling against the Euro. Bravo, MB!

Don’t laugh at this, but apparently, Vicks on your feet is supposed to be a brilliant cure for a cold. Luckily, so far, haven’t needed to try it, but tons of Vit C is good too. Love the sound of this scrub, have to find a reason to treat myself now that Christmas is over. Wonder is it in their shop at the Outlet in Kildare? Got some great bargains/ pressies there in December.
