(a) My main point was to pass on views on Bliss from the US. It goes both ways. From a US point of view, excitement about Bliss is hilarious. From ours, their excitement about some stuff here would have similar reactions (OK, minus the Bliss marketing): Boots Botanics, Nivea in the blue tin, Rimmel makeup, La Roche-Posay,…

(b) my own comments – trying very hard to be balanced: hence saying that I have liked some of their products. Ex. stuff for feet; and that’s a reference to *my* poor overused feet, nobody else’s! Trying to be fair and even here, even if I wouldn’t buy the stuff at Dublin prices. In my case, the negatives outweigh the positives: I’ve had horrid reactions to their face stuff. Try before you buy, is all.

And, err, no, I don’t work for any sort of competition – lol – I’m an academic. Teaching literature and doing literary criticism. It’s maybe cos of that I have an allergic reaction to a lot of marketing?

At the end of the day, if it makes you happy, where’s the harm? And it’s great that more companies are doing more in shops, not just selling stuff plain and simple.

It would be fantastic if it could become a normal part of everyday life, that you finish work and get a mini-pampering and massage session on the way home. It should be a basic right!

I found Ginger’s post well written, well thought out and it must have taken some time on her part too. So why the venom?

Bliss stuff is nice. It is also a marvel of marketing over substance, and pretty over-rated. If you like them and are happy to pay the prices fine, (and I agree the body stuff is lovely, but way too expensive for my liking). But it is hardly a crime to point out a different view now, is it?
