How Can You Tell if Your Hair Needs Protein?

If you have a frizz-bound mane that you endlessly try to control (hello me!) it's a no-brainer that hydration is what it needs to get it looking ship-shape and super-shiny. Right? Yep?

Maybe not ...

I'm now going to totally cloud the issue, cos it might actually be protein that's needed to sort your shizz - and frizz - out. "Oh shut uuupppp Kirstie, and stop confusing us," is no doubt what some of you are thinking, but it's easy enough to work out if a lack of protein is the problem.

When wet, if your hair has no elasticity, it probably could do with a shot of protein. Likewise, if your strands are persistently brittle and split-endy, despite loads of moisturising and hydrating attention, then the big P might be needed.
