Beaut.ienomics Out in Force at Belfast Zoo!

In these recessionary times, we're all on the lookout for beauty bargains here at Beaut.ie and it seems we're not the only ones.

Faced with the problem of ultra dry skin during a hot spell recently, the retired elephants of Belfast Zoo could have tried logging on to Beaut.ie to check out some reader recommendations, but luckily for them, their keeper had her own favourite - an own-brand budget body lotion from Tesco - and it worked perfectly on the elephants' dry hides. Thrilled with their bargain find, the elephants are now being regularly pampered with the cream to help protect their hides during the warm summer weather.

So if the elephants are in need of pampering, they're probably not the only ones. Take the orang utans, for example. That lovely red hair could probably benefit from colour-refreshing shampoo and conditioner. And the seals swimming around in their pool all day long could surely do with applying body oil to damp skin after taking a dip, to protect it from drying out.

Over in the reptile house, I bet the process of shedding their skin would be made a lot easier for the snakes if they were supplied with a good body scrub. And if they needed some help touching up their smokey eyed look, a nice black khol pencil would be perfect for the pandas.

So what do you think? Will you be taking beauty recommendations from the elephants and trying out the Tesco lotion? And have you any ideas for beauty products for other animals?
