Just back from interviewing Emma Roberts, niece of Julia, daughter of Eric. She is starring in teen-flick 'Wild Child' which is the movie you get when you cross Enid Blyton's Naughtiest Girl in School with Mean Girls and throw in a sprinkling of Hogwarts with lacrosse instead of quidditch. The premiere at Cineworld on Monday night was like the SATC premiere except the girls were all at least twenty years younger. They were rocking prom dresses and kept leaving the cinema to touch-up their make-up. Jaysus.
I felt like Shrek meeting Ms Roberts this morning and of course noticed a curious white stain - coleslaw? full fat mayo? - on my dress just as we were introduced. She was wearing a lived in looking Bruce Springsteen t-shirt and skinny navy jeans tucked down into four inch high patent heels so the trews covered half her foot.
(Is this a new trend? Why wasn't I told so I could have tucked my pregnant-style ladies jeans from Pamela Scott into my comfortable chews from Campers? Why?)

Anyhoo. She has flawless skin, humungus brown eyes, impeccable taste in jewellery - the gold pendant around her neck bore a very discreet E written in tiny diamonds - and of course she packs an industrial strength smile bestowed on her by Auntie Julia.
So I should have hated her, yeah? Sigh. She's actually lovely. An avid reader. Likes a good dark novel by Brett Easton Ellis but turns to Gossip Girls for her summer read. Doesn't like Paris Hilton types although she's too cool to actually name names. It was refreshing to meet a young, talented actress who proves that LA starlets aren't all like La Lohan and Co. Unless, of course, she's just a really, really good actress. Oh.
