So you completely and utterly left it to the last minute and you’ve got to buy that all-essential pressie for your mum/sister/girlfriend, eh?
Worry not, here are a few expensive pressie ideas (well, you didn’t plan, so you’ll have to splurge!) that will have you breathing easy while still receiving tons of praise at your extreme thoughtfulness on Christmas morning.
Clockwise from top left is Jo Malone’s fab Pomegranate Noir tasting kit, €117. Using her famous fragrance-combining concept, the set includes a 30ml Pomegranate Noir cologne as well as 9ml sizes of Raspberry, Casablanca Lily and Guaiacwood colognes. The idea is you can combine them as you wish, to create a bespoke scent that’s oh-so-you.
Next up is one you’d give if you were really in hot water or really rather rich (or both). It’s Creme de la Mer’s Creme de la Creme Christmas gift and includes a massive 500ml pot of the iconic face cream, nestled inside a beautiful, weighty mother of pearl jar. Put it on the credit card, boys – it costs €1,350.
Lancome’s newest scent is Magnifique, from €47. With the divine Anne Hathaway as the face of the fragrance, this stuff is romantic, heady and has been flying off the shelves since it landed a few months ago. Beautiful packaging, too.
No woman into makeup would ever reject the present of some Bobbi Brown brushes. This set contains all the basics, tucked into a metallic case. The Copper Diamond Deluxe Brush Set, €200, will be indispensable.
Lastly, you’ll have to hot-foot it to Wilde and Green in Milltown if you want to bag this Award Winners set from Liz Earle, €93.75. Packed full of great stuff like her classic cleanse and polish, hand and body creams as well as lots of other skin treats, this will go down a storm.
