Before Christmas we had an item on Make Up Factory, which is a German cosmetics brand that's just been launched in Ireland. It's a brand apparently favoured by makeup artists and it's sold exlcusively in pharmacies and department stores. We were also lucky enough to get to road test some of their products.
I've been veering back to lipstick for quite a while now, after a lengthy love affair with gloss. Fear not ladies, I'll still be buying and raving about gloss, but my ardour has cooled a bit. So I was pleased to get to try a Make Up Factory lipstick in 120, which is a very attractive pinky-beige shade (that's not it on the left, don't worry!).
As I've previously mentioned, we all need a basic selection of nude products in our makeup kits - they really are an essential. This lipstick is perfect for that - it can be used on its own during the day, with liner for a more defined finish or topped off with some gloss for evening too.
The finish is satiny, with a smooth, moisturising feel. It smells pleasant too - vanilla-y. Like all lipsticks, it does need regular touch-ups - but then, so does gloss. I'm never down on a lip product that needs a bit of TLC to keep it looking good. It's just a fact - our lips are mobile, we eat, drink and talk using them, so it's sort of a miracle anything stays on them at all.

Lastly, the packaging of this lipstick is gorgeous - it's a chunky, weighty little piece, and the container is made from chromed metal. Very nice. It feels expensive and glam.
