Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara

Higher volume and high definition that’s sleek and smooth.

That’s what the MAX version of this award winning mascara promises.

But does it deliver?

YES! It does! It’s fab, goes on very well, the brush cleverly combs your eyelashes to define and separate. The colour is black and dramatic, your eyes look bigger and wide awake. It’s suitable for contact lens wearers too. It cost me €13.99 in Boots – I’ve paid twice that for mascaras that promised much and delivered little.

Masterpiece MAX is the best mascara I’ve used in a long while.

Really? Was so disappointed in the original one, was lovely at first but then after a week or so it went clumpy and horrible!!!

  • Admin says:

I find with this that it’s great initially but it shatters and falls down your face after a few hours, so it’s worth spending more to prevent that.

  • Aisling Aphrodite says:

Do you not take your makeup off every night then glitter?

  • glittergirl says:

Me? I do take it off every night why?

  • Admin says:

no, during the day this would happen – it starts to flake and you find hits on your cheeks

  • Principessa says:

Ha Ha, Aphrodite, you’re very quick this morning!!!!!

  • Nic says:

Im a firm believer it spending more and getting a better orduct, i used the original version of thiss and loved it for about a week and then as glitter said it was all clumpy and horrible! I have been using the Benefit bad gal lash and i love it but i would like a change. can anyone recommend a good mascara?

I got Estee Lauder Perfectionist in a swap Nic and it’s fantastic. Love it, no clumping and no flaking off after a few hours either

  • Admin says:

currently I’m loving cliniques high definition lashes. it’s amazing!

  • Principessa says:

I ditto Admin’s appro of the Clinique Hi Def. There’s a Clinique Bonus Time in House of Fraser until 2nd June and it contains a pocket sized version of the mascara.

  • glittergirl says:

Oh yeah that reminds me Clinique Bonus time in Clerys at the moment

I’m coming to the end of my Initimtable from Chanel and have the Masterpiece already bought and ready to go. I just hope it lives up the Hype. I’ve loved the Chanel.

  • SJP's Mole says:

I bought the original Masterpiece last night cos everyone here was raving about it so hope it doesn’t go all clumpy – I heard the reports of flakiness about the Max so that’s why I went with the original. Fingers crossed it’s OK! At least it didn’t cost a fortune.

  • Aisling Aphrodite says:

    hehe thank you Principessa!

  • pinkpanther says:

I loved for first few weeks but now it’s a bit hard and clumpy looking.

I’ve just been using mine for a week – so far no flaky – but I hear what you’re all saying, so I’m going to be keeping a very close eye (see what I did there) on it!

  • Giovanna says:

I loved this too, but my fav fav fav (right now!) is defintely BadGal Blue – it is amazing (especially if a tad hungover!)

  • Giovanna says:

Doesn’t yer wan in the photo look a bit like Jordan?

  • Nic says:

i might try the el one so glitter girl, thanks a mill

I had the same flaky problem with masterpiece max, and being a mascara junkie (I’m a blondey with blonde eyelashes, you know my dilemma if you’re like me…add to that the fact that I’m currently a fake brunette and you’ll understand my reliance on mascara…dark hair and bald eyes do not a beauty make), that was a big problem. I also wear contacts and contact and flaky mascara don’t go well together either. I have always found YSL faux ciels mascara brilliant – I know the new edition has a new name but its still brilliant. Its not terribly long lasting in the tube, I usually have to buy a new one every month, but thats probably better for my eyes anyway. It gives me really long lush and none clumpy lashes. The ultimate goal! Have a good weekend ladies!
